The 445th Airlift Wing at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio received its first C-17 Globemaster III Jan. 21,2010. The aircraft is on loan from Joint Base Charleston, S.C. A maintenance field training team from Air Education and Training Command will begin training 445th maintenance personnel on this airplane. The 445th AW, an Air Force Reserve Command unit, is transitioning from flying and maintaining the C-5 Galaxy to the newer C-17.
